biography
lotte gertrude hartmann came into the world to a man and his magi wife. her parents loved their little girl, who showed telltale signs of being a magi from a young age. cups that she knocked over would lift up and right themselves if lotte was looking at them, and when she started putting on her own shoes, they'd tie themselves. nothing out of the ordinary for a magi, and her mom started to train her to use her magic once the child was old enough to have enough of a grasp on it to start.
she flourished under the training of her mom, who was a very good teacher, and by the age of ten was flying around town on her broom and could put the oven back together without touching it, whenever her dad would break it. however, lotte - lott, as her friends at school called her - started growing bored with standard magic and the expectations that she would use it for something for the good of the community. it was her magic, wasn't it? if someone asked nicely for a favor or small job, sure, she'd do it, but she didn't want to become a magi mule,
instead, lott decided to pursue baking. baking was a normal occupation, and you got to eat sweets and unlimited bread. that's the dream, right? at the age of thirteen, she would head down to the bakery by the plaza after school and help out in the kitchen. it mostly involved keeping the oven hot at first, using her magic, but soon she was making up batter, decorating cakes, and by the time she finished school at seventeen, became a full-time assistant to the baker. which means doing all the dirty work, naturally.
but she doesn't mind that much. one time, actually, she was magically changing the color of some frosting pink (because the baker was too lazy to do it by hand), and it backfired and changed her hair color to pink. lotte decided to keep it that way. it's a nice change, don't you think? she's been mistaken for a quenya too many times, though, that it's getting awkward.
